Androgynoceras
A half-cut fossil of Androgynoceras, an ammonite that lived in the Jurassic period. It is one of the representative ammonites of England.
This specimen allows for good observation of the septa inside the phragmocone. Translucent calcite (?) crystals have formed in some places. This is a favorite point.
123 x 105 mm
Purchased at the 30th Tokyo International Mineral Fair held in June 2017. It is one of my favorite fossils. Considering its displayability that allows good observation of the interior, I am satisfied with the cost performance.
