Edmontosaurus annectens

Edmontosaurus Jawbone | Fossil

Jaw of Edmontosaurus annectens.

Edmontosaurus Jawbone

This is a jaw specimen of Edmontosaurus annectens. It's from the back of the jaw. A fossil that also preserves the dental battery structure characteristic of ornithopod hadrosaurs.

You can also observe the fine, bubble-like holes remaining in the cross-section of the jawbone, an evolution for weight reduction.
