Koneprusia sp.

Koneprusia

Koneprusia, along with Drotops armatus, is a representative spiky-backed trilobite. This individual is a rare type with a long, developed central spine on its head.

It lived in Morocco during the Middle Devonian (about 390 million years ago). It is one of the popular species, characterized by long spines arranged in three rows on its back. I wonder if it developed so many spines for defense?

I bought it because the two horns on its head looked like bed hair, which I found relatable.
It's fun to gaze at it and wonder, "What were these for...?"
