Nyterops yetieifliensis.
Nyterops yetieifliensis, a trilobite from the Eifel Mountains in western Germany.
This is a wonderful specimen with well-preserved texture and compound eyes. The segments and bumps on the head are almost completely intact.
The preservation of the compound eyes is particularly wonderful, and when observed with a 10x loupe, it doesn't seem [from the Devonian period].
I got it cheaply at auction, but the back of the specimen label had a price tag of 40,000 JPY.
