It lived in Morocco during the Middle Devonian. It is a popular species characterized by a trident-like horn extending from the front of its head.
Regarding the function of the Walliserops' cephalic process, theories suggest it was either an organ for filter-feeding—scooping up seabed mud and filtering organic matter—or a tool for competing for mates or territory, much like modern rhinoceros beetles, but its exact purpose remains unknown.
